My approach is warm and nonjudgmental, and I tailor my approach to fit each person I work with. I enjoy helping people build and sustain healthy, meaningful, and fulfilling lives. I utilize psychodynamic psychotherapy which encourages deeper work and creates substantial change. I also utilize EMDR, a psychosomatic therapy treatment which decreases disturbance associated with trauma.
About Me
I’m a licensed clinical social worker with an MSW from Fordham University. My training as a social worker has given me a unique ability to see the bigger picture of a person’s life. I believe in a holistic, personalized approach to therapy that considers not only individual experiences, but also the broader systems that influence mental health and well-being.
I am trained in EMDR, an evidence based approach that utilizes bilateral stimulation on the body to reprocess trauma and support healing. I believe the combination of talk therapies and psychosomatic therapies best supports mind-body healing.
I have worked in a wide variety of settings as a social worker and therapist, where I have supported people across the lifespan with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, PTSD, and C-PTSD.
I was a Division IA collegiate athlete, so I combine this experience with my professional tools to address matters such as performance anxiety, mental blocks, body image issues, and anxiety and depression in athletes.
I am a lifelong learner. Currently, I am enrolled in an advanced training program at the Institute of Contemporary Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis. I study psychodynamic therapy, which helps clients gain insight into the unconscious patterns that influence thoughts and behavior.
